Hello Love with Maureen

Simplicity Sister, Maureen Merritt, joins us today with a beautiful card and fun coloring technique.

And how did she color that flower?  After stamping and heat embossing the image in white, she placed the flower on her acrylic block- upside down.  She pressed her ink pads directly to the back of the stamp, starting with the lighter color and then adding some of the darker color.  She then spritzed this with water and stamped the ink on top of the embossed flower.  Fool-proof watercolor!

  1. Want a good laugh? I puzzled for a good half-hour on how to get a rubber stamp to stick to an acrylic block “upside down” — because in my world rubber doesn’t stick to acrylic. Then I had an AHA! moment and realized that this technique works only with photopolymer stamps!! LOL
